Maintaining Breast Health and Recognizing Problems

Whether we admit it or not as women our breasts are very important to us. They are a source of embarrassment during adolescence then pride in our teenage years, they provide nutrition for our babies, and state to the world that we are women.

The importance of caring for our breasts cannot be overstated, as they are also a common source of problems. We experience breast pain during menstruation, some of us will develop breast cysts and about fifteen percent of us will develop breast cancer.

In some cases women are not satisfied with the appearance of their breasts. Cosmetic procedures can either enlarge or reduce the size of a woman's breasts depending on her desires. Reconstruction of a breast may be desired following a mastectomy or even lumpectomy for breast cancer.
